Some of the more familiar Older American’s Act funded programs in Columbia County are Meals on Wheels and the Senior Nutrition Program. However we do offer Preventative Health Workshops, Legal Aid, Money Management and Options Counseling management with OAA funds.
The Senior Program also provides a trained case manager specialist to provide direct senior client contact and support for in-home services programs such as respite care and Oregon Project Independence Programs. The in-home services programs places a trained care provider to help the senior with activities of daily living to help them stay in their own home.
Options Counseling – provides seniors over 60 and people with disabilities over 18 years of age with the information they need on both current and long-term care services and supports in order to live independently in their community, regardless of disability or income. Options Counselors are trained to work with you, family members and/or significant others to connect you to vital resources and services that fit your current situation and preferences and allow you to stay in your home. Options Counseling is FREE service.
Oregon Project Independence – The purpose of the program was to provide a “safety net” for those individuals 60 years of age and over who did not qualify for Medicaid because of income or resources but still needed help in their homes because of inability to perform daily tasks.

4. Your gift of $350.00 would pay for 10 hours of in-home help per month to one vulnerable senior through our Oregon Project Program
