This position is responsible for supervising Healthy Families Home Visitors who conduct home visits. They will perform administrative, management and training functions; may provide some direct services to clients; coach, mentor, supervise and train staff. They will also provide short and long range planning for service delivery and training; integrating components in all areas and assuring agency compliance with Healthy Families of America and State Performance Standards and State Performance Indicators.

Qualifications
- Master degree preferred or Bachelors with three years of relevant early human services, childhood education, child development and parent child attachment.
- A solid understanding of and/or experience in supervising diverse staff with humility, as well as providing support to staff in stressful work environments. Knowledge in reflective practice preferred.
- Experience with supervision, case management or program coordination. Including culturally diverse communities and families. Reflective practice preferred.
- Skills and knowledge of developmentally appropriate Early Childhood Education, prevention services age 0-3 population, child development, home visiting and parent child attachment.
- Experience with family services that embrace the concepts of family centered and strength based service provisions.
- Knowledge of parent-infant health and dynamics of child abuse and neglect.
- Experience in providing services to culturally diverse communities/families
- Must have intermediate working computer skills and knowledge.
- Ability to communicate in a professional manner with children, families and co-workers in both verbal and written formats.
- Must have current pediatric and adult First Aid and CPR cards.
- Ability to participate in regular kneeling, stooping, bending, sitting on the floor and standing for long periods of time.
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs
- Bilingual skills preferred
- Must be willing and available to work flexible hours.
- Must be on the Central Background Registry, pass a pre-employment drug screen and TB screen
- Must have dependable transportation and/or valid driver’s license and auto insurance.
- Evidence of ability to work in a cooperative team manner, to follow directions, Healthy Families America Best Practice Standards and program policies. This includes engaging in building reflective practice.
- Must be able to attend meetings and trainings that may require out-of-town travel and overnight stays.
- Ability to work with low income and/or special needs families, including families from a diverse population.
- Experience in home visiting with a strong background in early childhood prevention services.
- Infant mental health endorsement preferred
Duties and Responsibilities
- Supervise, mentor, coach and administer work plans and directives to staff
- Monitor the staff performance, attendance, required documents, and time sheets of all staff.
- Recommend areas of improvement to staff and promote training that reflects the individual needs of staff members and/or the team as a whole.
- Help develop staff training plans
- Monitor case load levels; ensure that data forms for evaluation are completed correctly and timely.
- Check documentation and daily work of home visitors to ensure reports, assignments and responsibilities are completed on time and as required by Healthy Families.
- Help workers maintain a balance in home visit services between parenting education and handling family crises and needs.
- Facilitate the resolution of conflicts between staff.
- Supervise staff assigned to home visiting, including home visit observations and record checks.
- Purchase materials, supplies, equipment and services to maintain safe, efficient operation of site(s), prioritizing within budget constraints.
- Ensure completion of screening, assessments, education plans, transition plans and referral process according to policies and procedures.
- Serve as team leader to work closely with support staff, site staff, families, volunteer staff, local Early Learning Teams/HUBB and the State Office of Healthy Families.
- Provide leadership to staff in creating environments that are stimulating and conducive to learning.
- Provide leadership to staff in developing an individualized, relevant curriculum and family plans.
- Work with staff, specialists and consultants to identify and provide appropriate, timely and integrated services to children with disabilities and special needs.
- Must maintain program and client confidentiality policies.
- Ensure recruitment, outreach procedures and caseload guidelines are maintained according to program policies and procedures.
- Ensure activities are implemented on-site and in-home to establish positive links between home and program and support parents as primary educators.
- Participate in hiring and provide on-site training, supervision and evaluation of all staff.
- Provide leadership in recruitment, training, supporting and evaluating volunteers.
- Perform background checks on staff.
- Must maintain program, client and staff confidentiality policies.
- Provide Healthy Families information to the community.
- May perform Home Visitors worker’s duties as assigned.
- Must maintain a working knowledge of program plans, policies and performance standards.
- Other duties as assigned by Program Manager.
